About Me

Robert Janes
I am a lawyer, originally from Newfoundland, who resides in Victoria, British Columbia on the western edge of Canada. I have a wife (also a Newfoundlander) and a six year old daughter. While I have a varied litigation practice, my interests in politics, history and policy have led me to a significant aborginal rights and constiutional law practice which leads me to all parts of the country. My wanderings across the country (I have lived in Newfoundland, British Columbia and Ontario) have also led me to spend a great deal of time thinking about the glue that sticks the country together -- particularly in the modern world where the thought is, I hope, that we do things on a rational basis rather than just falling back on the old habits of tribe and kin.
